still prefer the original GEL-Pulse,
I’m a heavy runner (200 pounds) doing about 15 miles per week on asphalt. I underpronate and recently had surgery on both feet, so I needed a shoe with excellent cushioning. These are excellent (not fantastic), no embellishments in succession shoes. The new revision appears to have a higher ankle cup and narrower toe box, plus improved cushioning in the forefoot. I’ve been in succession on these for a few weeks now and, while I like them, I still prefer the original GEL-Pulse for overall comfort.

|Fantastic shoe for the price,
I have run about 250 miles so far on my current pair of Gel-Pulse 2. Very small wear so far. The sole is sturdy and keeps its form for quite awhile. I highly prefer ASICS as its the only shoe brand I’ve run with that I’m not prone to injuries. This is my 5th pair of ASICS (also used the gel cumulus and gel nimbus in the past). I prefer the Gel-Pulse 2 over the others. It seems to last a lot longer and is a better fit for my foot and in succession style personally. I will be re-upping and getting another pair of these terrible boys. You can’t beat $50 for a pair of shoes that will last you 300-400 miles.
Cons: So far the only con is that the mesh has started to deteriorate a small. I have one very small hole near my toes in the right shoe. It’s lost some of its insistence but I’ve been using them for 4.5 months now so they’ve held together sweet well.

|ASICS GEL, can’t go incorrect,
I’ve been wearing ASICS in succession shoes for years; ran the Rome Marathon in a pair and have been a fan ever since. Amazon.com is a fantastic house to find a deal and they permanently ship quickly to FPO addresses, which is a huge plus. Thanks!
