The 13′s are Too Different from Prior Models, September 21, 2011

I have been in succession in Asics Gel Nimbus shoes for 3 years training for marathons and half-marathons. I loved the 11′s and 12′s but I am returning my 13′s. They are terrible. I don’t know what changed but they no longer support my feet. I developed a blister on the inside of my right sole (high up, in a very weird house) and no matter if I change the socks or loosen the laces, it keeps coming back. Also caused significant pain on the right side of my foot. I’m buying out as many 12′s as I can afford. I despise to change brands/shoes (I recognize I’ll eventually have to find a non-Asics shoe) but I cannot run in the Nimbus 13s.

    Stick with the Gel-Nimbus 12, October 18, 2011

I’ve been in succession in Asics forever, and have permanently loved the roomy toebox. I measure as a wide, but the regular width fit me fine in the Nimbus 12. But, even the Nimbus 13 wide is too narrow for my foot. Add in major heel slippage that isn’t alleviated by using a runner’s knot, and I was relieved to find that the store still had the ancient model in stock.

If the new narrower fit is the trend for Asics going forward, I may have to switch shoes.

    Sadly disappointed, October 3, 2011

    Amazon Verified Buy(What’s this?)

I like my Gel-Nimbus 12 so thought the 13 would just be even better. But, the fit must have been streamlined and is much too small for my foot. I returned the 13, found the discontinued Gel-Nimbus 12 through Amazon and am thrilled.
